- Australian Centre for Environmental Law
"ACEL - ANU was established in 1991 as a collaborative venture between the law schools of three of
Australia's leading Universities (ANU, Adelaide and Sydney). Today, ACEL - ANU is widely respected as
an independent, non-partisan centre of excellence in learning. Its mission is to deliver world class
environmental law and policy post-graduate teaching, publish cutting-edge research, and stimulate
environmental legal and policy development. These activities are designed to lead to better
environmental, social and economic outcomes in Australia and internationally. When members of the
legal profession, government, business, public interest organizations, and the media seek expert
information, or wish to pursue qualifications in environmental law and policy, they turn to ACEL -
ANU."--About ACEL - ANU page [November 30, 2001].
